Oh the happy accidents that happen in our kitchen! This one might be the best, at least for breakfast. Egg Nog French Toast came about when my daughter asked for French toast and we were out of milk. We did however have egg nog, so I made a substitution. And a breakfast hit was born.
Egg Nog French Toast is super easy and it’s baked which means that everyone can eat together!

Egg Nog French Toast
I did not use fancy bread to make this Egg Nog French Toast, just ordinary sliced Italian Bread from the grocery store. I am sure you could use Challah or something like that, but I don’t think it is necessary, the flavor comes from using real egg nog in the custard mixture.
Preheat the oven to 450ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. and then make the custard in a shallow bottom dish. I use a square pyrex casserole dish.
Make a custard mixture of eggs, egg nog, and vanilla. Whisk it. (We love our flat wire whisk for this task.) Then soak each slice of bread individually, place them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake 8 minutes, and flip. Bake 2 minutes more. That’s it.
