Today is day 15 of 25 Christmas Activities to Do with Your Family. And, today is a follow-up to yesterday‘s Decorate Together. One of the greatest things that you can do with your family is put the Christmas Nativity Scene out together. It is such a clear reminder of the fact that Christmas is really about the day of Jesus’s birth.
Set Up the Christmas Nativity Scene
Our family actually has several nativity scenes which allows us to have ample opportunity to put the nativity scene out together. We have a Melissa and Doug set that belongs to the kids and they set it up just under our family set. They are allowed to play with this one and move things around and just generally enjoy it.
We also have the family Christmas Nativity Scene by Willow Tree that was given to us as a Christmas present the year we got married. This set is more fragile but Sunshine is very careful. So we allow her to help put it out. In addition, we have an Eskimo puzzle Christmas Nativity Scene that we got in Alaska about five years ago. That one is also very kid friendly so usually we let The Boy put that one out. Finally, we have the Little People Christmas Nativity Scene which is just for play.
25 Days of Christmas Activities
So, get your kids involved and decorate together. And, we hope that you include a Christmas Nativity Scene (or four!) in your decorating this season and that you allow your kids to share in the joy of the baby Jesus. They will love it and they will remember. I hope that you will give it a try this December.
Be sure to stop back tomorrow and for the next ten days to find other great traditions to share with your family during the 25 Days of Christmas Activities. And don’t forget to check out the first 14 days too.
