We love salmon in our house. I am always looking for ways to change up our preparation of it. One of our current (Whole30) favorites is Baked Orange Garlic Salmon which is so easy to make on a weeknight (or any night). It takes just 20 minutes. Or, you can be done in just 15 minutes if you already have a batch of Orange Garlic Seafood Dry Rub on hand. Who doesn’t love a healthy 15 minute meal?
Baked Orange Garlic Salmon
Orange Garlic Salmon is so easy. We generally use frozen salmon because it is hard to find wild caught salmon in our neck of the woods most of the time. Defrost the salmon if necessary. Pat it dry. Lay is skin side down on a parchment covered baking sheet.
I have seen recipes that suggest coating both sides of the salmon (including the skin side) with dry rub. I don’t bother. It is enough to just do the top. There is plenty of flavor that penetrates the salmon without doing the skin-side which just gets discarded.
Generously coat the salmon with Orange Garlic Seafood Dry Rub. Let it sit while your oven is warming up to 425°F. Cover with foil. Bake for 15 minutes or until the salmon easily flakes.
The beauty of baking it covered is that salmon can easily become dried out, but the foil helps keep the moisture trapped.
This salmon comes out so moist and the flavors of orange and garlic complement it while they don’t overwhelm it.
Weeknight Salmon
So, if you are looking for a quick and easy way to prepare salmon, Baked Orange Garlic Salmon is the way to go. Make a couple extra fillets and use them for another quick weeknight meal: Salmon Sliders (which are Whole30, Paleo and Gluten-free).
